Emma Potochny, Clinical Intern

Emma Passion and professional experience align in wanting to be there for those who are suffering from sexual trauma, multiple traumas, who are struggling with grief, life transitions, depression, self-esteem, or anxiety, who seek warm, LGBTQIA+ affirming counseling, informed by person-centered, Narrative, systems, and CBT techniques.

Currently pursuing my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Chicago School, I have a B.A. in Psychology from McGill University, along with dual minors in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies (GSFS) and Behavioral Science. I have three years of crisis counseling experience, gained from the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, RAINN, and a sexual trauma center. I've supported clients through their darkest moments and the uncertainty of change—whether a new job, a new partner, or a major life shift—some hoped for and welcomed, others challenging to hold.

I cherish providing caring, trauma-informed, intersectionally mindful, and multiculturally sensitive support.

As the expert of your own life, I look forward to learning more about you—your needs, hopes, the identities and experiences you hold dear (and those you need to process)—everything important to share with me as we work towards growth together.

I am excited to meet you!
