O'brien Wimbish, M.A., Pastoral Counselor

O.Wimbish Minister O'Brien (OB) Wimbish is a Pastoral Counselor, Coach and Ordained Minister. He also the founder and President of Over And Beyond Holistic Therapy, Inc., a Faith-based corporation that helps its clientele to be healed and made whole. 

Minster OB specializes in Intimacy and Infidelity recovery. His other counseling/coaching areas includes marriages and family, sexuality, LGBTQI+, clergy, men’s issues, spirituality, youth, depression, and anxiety.

Professional Background

 O'Brien started his mental health career in 2000 as a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Specialist for the United Way, in Sumter SC. Since then he continued his mental health career with Village Family Network, in Baltimore and Prince George's County Maryland; The Way Station in Fredrick and Howard County; and Hearts and Homes for Youth. 

O'Brien graduated from Morris College in Sumter, SC with a B.A. in Sociology. Upon graduation from Morris College, Minister Wimbish continued his education at Loyola College in Baltimore MD, studying pastoral counseling. He received his Masters of Arts degree in counseling, with a concentration in Youth and Family therapy at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham MD. Minister Wimbish became a licensed practitioner of the Gospel at the Community Bible Baptist Church. He received his ordination by the Community Bible Baptist Church in 2007. 

 Minister Wimbish has held many positions, both religious and secular during his career. He co-founded Make It Plain Ministries, Inc. He was the program coordinator for the YWCA’s “Men Facing Violence” in SC.  Minister.  OB was the Coordinator for South Carolina’s Project Alpha/March of Dimes; Assistant Vice-President for the Youth Division of Council of Churches of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area, Youth and Young Adult Pastor at The Community Bible Baptist Church. He currently service as an instructor of Biblical Interpretations and Doctrine of Christ at The Washington Baptist Theological Seminary and also serves a Youth Pastor in Silver Springs, MD.  OB is a sought out out speaker (podcasts, blogs, interviews, revivals, conferences, schools and churches) on topics that includes marriage, sex education, theology, youth, family, and  Men’s issues. He has spoken throughout the United States, East Africa, and the Dominican Republic. He is currently working on his seminar on “Sexually Liberating the Black Church”.
