Living this way is not only draining, but compounded by the shame that our life is out of our control. Thus we find ourselves in a constant cycle of overthinking everything, never feeling good enough, and criticizing our every move.

Cherese Carter is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Carter’s goal is to help her clients shift from merely existing to living their best life . She specializes in helping anxious and overwhelmed teens, young adults and high-achieving women overcome anxiety , silence their inner critic, and build lasting self-confidence . Mrs. Carter is also a Christian and supports clients who request to incorporate faith into their sessions.
Cherese Carter earned her bachelor’s degree with a double major in business marketing and religion from Texas Christian University (TCU), located in her hometown of Fort Worth, TX. After discovering her passion for counseling , Cherese returned to TCU and received her master’s degree in professional counseling. Most recently, Cherese has worked in higher education as a mental health counselor for college students. Currently she works with high school students as a school counselor. Cherese is passionate about counseling and empowering the next generation of counselors. She has worked as an adjunct professor and taught Counseling Principles and Techniques at Capital Seminary and Graduate School .
Cherese’s areas of counseling interest include teens , young adults , anxiety management , self-esteem, perfectionism, adjustment disorders and life transitions. Cherese hopes to help each of her clients reach their personal goals. In addition to counseling, Cherese enjoys spending time with her family , serving in her church , reading and exercising.
