Brenda Burruss Chavis, MACMHC, LCPC is a graduate of Capital Seminary & Graduate School/Lancaster Bible College, with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and believes in the integration of various therapeutic approaches and is person-centered as well as solution-focused in her delivery. She counsels clients across the spectrum who are dealing with challenges that include: depression; anxiety; suicidal thoughts and self-harming; low self- esteem; adjustment; grief/loss; and issues with marriage and pre-marital relationships. She believes one can change their behavior as they transform their thinking. Brenda’s goal is to address the entire person holistically, mentally, physically and emotionally in guiding toward hope and wellness.
While attending her graduate courses, Brenda provided strategic support services to We’re Empowered To Achieve The impossible (WETATi), an organization whose main objective is to educate, train and empower our next generation youth and millennials with the tools necessary to prepare them for the 21st century. Brenda is also one of the founders and partners in the newly established company, The Relationship Builders (TRB).
Brenda is a Christian, and a member of The Peoples Community Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland where she is an active member of Yasha Circle, the ministry that addresses domestic violence issues in our communities and an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Brenda is widowed with three children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She enjoys swimming, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
